Watch Out! Look both ways at medical intersections

There’s a quote I heard that sticks with me,

“I spend half my time protecting my patients from conventional doctors. I spend the other half protecting them from alternative doctors.”

I think this is so important. There are harmful practices on both sides of the fence. It is our job to first do no harm. It’s easy to fall into dogmatic camps and dismiss all the rest. I think that is dangerous.

The road into integrative medicine is interesting and there are many different paths within the field. I’m still sorting out all that I’ve learned. It has turned some of my views inside out and my world upside down.
